Catalog Note
Demonstration lot, seeded to preview the catalog.
A four-point ebony-into-maple construction with nickel-silver ring work at the joint and butt sleeve, executed in Gutierrez's unmistakable hand. The forearm carries four high ebony points with twin veneers; the butt sleeve repeats the motif in miniature. Original lizard wrap, original finish with honest table wear, and two original shafts both at full diameter.
The cue presents exactly as a well-kept player from the period should: unrestored, straight together and apart, with the slightly ambered finish that only comes from fifty years of honest ownership.
