Submit a cue for catalog review.

Every submission is reviewed for maker, condition, originality, provenance, market relevance, and sale readiness. Accepted lots receive a catalog record, image requirements, a reserve discussion, and an auction schedule. You approve the final catalog entry before your lot is published.

Consignor Terms

What it costs

Sellers pay a commission on the hammer price at the published rates, deducted from sale proceeds at settlement. The buyer's premium is separate and is paid by the buyer. There is no fee to submit a cue for review; the fee schedule is published prior to sale, and final seller terms are confirmed in writing before lot acceptance.

How reserves work

You may set a reserve, accept High Run's reserve guidance, or run the lot at no reserve. Reserve amounts are never published — bidders see only Reserve Met or Reserve Not Met. Reserve terms are agreed before the lot is scheduled.

Who pays shipping

The buyer pays shipping. You ship only after the sale closes and payment is captured, to the address High Run provides. A hard case is required for lots valued at $5,000 or more; High Run can coordinate shipping on your behalf.

When you are paid

High Run collects from the buyer and holds settlement until delivery is confirmed and the buyer review window closes — three business days after confirmed delivery. Your proceeds are released after the window closes with no dispute, typically within seven days of delivery confirmation.

If the cue does not sell

If bidding does not meet your reserve, the lot passes. You may relist with an adjusted reserve, convert to no reserve in a later sale, or have the cue returned. Passed lots are recorded as unsold; reserve amounts remain undisclosed.

If there is a dispute

A buyer may file a materially-not-as-described or authenticity claim within three business days of delivery. High Run reviews the claim against the catalog record and image set, and adjudicates. Accurate disclosure at intake is your best protection — the record defends you.

What documentation helps

Original receipts, maker correspondence, certificates, prior sale records, and publication history all strengthen the catalog record and the result. Provide whatever exists, even partial.

Materials disclosure

Lots containing regulated materials — elephant ivory, tortoise shell, certain woods — require disclosure at intake and may carry shipping restrictions under federal and state law. Undisclosed regulated materials are grounds for cancellation.

Intake Image Checklist

If your cue is accepted, the house requests a complete image set before the catalog record is written. Phone photographs in even, indirect light are acceptable for review:

Full cue, assembled and broken down
Forearm and points, straight on
Butt sleeve, all sides
Joint and pin, both halves, close up
Each shaft — full length, ferrule, and tip
Signature, logo, or maker's mark
Wrap, including the seam
Any finish flaws, dings, or repair areas, close up
Weight on a scale with the reading visible
Case and documentation, if included
